Year 4 at a Glance

What's been happening in Year 4 this week. Enjoy the pictures that tell the story.

Science Museum

This week was our first school trip to  the Science Museum.  We saw lots of different types of technology and how they have changed over the years.
A big thank you to those parents who came along to help.
We hope you enjoy the photos!

Great to see you this week!

It was wonderful to see so many of you at the parent information evening this week.  Listed below are a few points discussed on the night.
  • School uniform is white runners and black leather school shoes.  The school bag should be a BHS bag.
  • 'Opt In' - log on to the Gateway to 'Opt In' so that you can stay informed of school events.
  • Reading assessments will use a new more accurate system to record your child's level of comprehension.  These assessments are due to start in the coming weeks.
  • Year 4 should have strong recall skills of times tables, division and addition subtraction.  Encourage your child to practice.
  • We dont give a lot of homework but we expect it to be completed and handed in on time.  Please put priority on BHS homework before afterschool tutor homework.
For those of you who missed the session the PowerPoint will be made available to parents through the school website.

School Uniform

We have seen a very positive change with the students' uniform in recent weeks.  Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Just as a reminder, here are the significant parts of the uniform which are a bit confusing;
  • White running shoes for PE Uniform.  A little colour for a symbol is ok.
  • Black school shoes.  Many of our kids are wearing black running shoes but these are not suitable, they must be black school shoes.
  • School Bag - This was a new piece of information to me too!  The BHS school bag is a required component of the school uniform.
Please keep these points in mind when you are buying new shoes and bags.
